Once you find a home to stage, use our tips below to structure a live-in arrangement:
- The homeowner can browse the stager profiles but can not contact a stager unless the homeowner has a paid active listing on the site.
- Make sure everyone understands and agrees on the terms of your relationship including the extra expenses, the showing instructions for real estate agents, any advance notice required for showings and a minimum and maximum notice for move out once the home is under contract.
- The homeowner will probably perform a credit check and a criminal background check.
- The Homeowner will probably verify your employment and personal references.
- We recommend that stagers carry an insurance policy including liability insurance.
- The agreement should be in writing and include language that addresses notice to move, in certain instances, even if the home has not sold.
- Make arrangements for access to the home.
- Homeowners will have the opportunity to leave feedback about a stager once their house is sold. Good feedback benefits the stager by making them more desirable to the next homeowner which could result in a better house or lower fee.
